Hometown Band

Its always fun to go see the hometown band on their home-court before they explode, move to New York, and start playing stadium gigs.

So I'm looking forward to tonight as I get to see the rockers from Anacortes, WA, the Lonely Forest.  They are the first band to sign with Death Cab's Chris Walla and his new record label.  They have been on some good tours as of late, and tonight they play in the U-dubs district at the historic Neptune Theater.

They are hometown, homegrown rock n' roll from the Northwest.  I see their drummer at our local Costco all the time!  And thankfully, no matter how big they get, I don't get the feeling they'll ever move to New York.  They pretty much solidified that with their song "I don't want to live there" which is basically about said move.

One thing I like about the hometown show is that you can usually catch a couple of proud parents with earplugs rocking in the back.
Three cheers for rock n' roll from Seattle!
